I might be dating myself here, but I remember when guys in middle school used to offer up their ID bracelets to the girl that they were “going out with” to show that they were the one and only. We called it “going steady.” These bracelets were traditionally silver with a heavy wide curved bar and heavy curb link, and they either had the guy’s name or initials engraved on the front or the back. We gave them back after the breakup (usually a month or so later). Then, in the 1990s when sterling silver came back into style in everything from delicate motif driven styles to chunkier rock ‘n roll looks, ID bracelets were a popular item with overlays of different patterns from gothic skulls to tattoo-inspired designs. Recently, ID bracelets have made a comeback in yellow gold, styles that can be engraved or with sayings and mottos and looks that are elevated with diamonds and gemstones.

Here are a variety of ID bracelets that can stand alone or can be layered with chain bracelets, other flexible styles and cuffs or bangles.
