Think Pink

Everything about the diverse palette of pink gowns on the red carpet this season conjured up the scene in Funny Face when Kay Thompson breaks into song and the entire “fashion office” turns into a fantastical pink wonderland. A few lines from the song also capture the jewelry we are seeing: “Now, I wouldn’t presume to tell a woman what a woman oughta think. But tell her if she’s gotta think, think pink!” From powder puff to pastel to vivid bubble gum permutations, pink continued to show up at every award and gala, translating into jewels like Lady Gaga’s morganite and gold Tiffany Blue Book necklace and earrings, and shown here Chaumet’s Padparadscha sapphire transformable necklace on Cindy Bruna at Cannes. Designers create collections that span the gemstone color spectrum of tourmalines, pink sapphire, pink spinel and morganites.
