The sighting: Actress Ellie Kemper recently appeared on the Today Show in a blue dress accented with some delicate gold Alex Monroe jewelry.

The jewels: Kemper is wearing Alex Monroe’s Bluebell Drop Earrings and Garden Gathering Charm Bracelet.
The earrings feature handcrafted bluebell flowers in gold plated sterling silver with cascading blue iolite drops and are listed on Alex Monroe’s website for £174. The bracelet features handmade flowers, leaves, and bees in 22k yellow gold-plated sterling silver and is listed on the brand’s website for £240.

The trends: A little too sweet and subtle for BoHo, these pieces fit perfectly into a trend I discovered through TikTok: Cottagecore. It reminds you of sun-soaked meadows and tiny sandwiches and all things cute and nice and pastoral. It’s anything you’d wear to a tea party where you might meet a fairy.

What do we think? I think this is absolutely perfect for bubbly, sunshine-ey Ellie Kemper. The subtle glints of gold both flatter and enliven her coloring, while the lovely little flowers echo the sweetness of the actress’ public persona in a way that is charming, rather than overbearing.

If this were a red carpet, I would say the jewels are too small. But for a daytime tv appearance, they’re just right.

Judgement: 13/10 for a lovely, subtle, well-matched jewelry choice

Time for More “Me Time”? Time to Call Wilkerson

Rick White, owner of White’s & Co. Jewelry in Rogers, Ark., knew it was time to retire. Since the age of 18, jewelry had been his life. Now it was time to get that “me time” every retailer dreams about. So, he chose Wilkerson to manage his going-out-of-business sale. White says he’d done plenty of sales on his own, but this was different. “Wilkerson has been a very, very good experience. I’ve had the best salespeople in the history of jewelry,” he says. “I recommend Wilkerson because they are really the icon of the jewelry business and going-out-of-business sales. They’ve been doing it for decades. I just think they’re the best.”
